The Sharjah Award for Sports Excellence Leadership Program Committee at Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club held its first meeting at the club’s headquarters yesterday evening, Monday, headed by Ahmed Abdullah Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Committee, to discuss the most prominent topics related to the concepts and criteria of the award, and to develop the necessary executive plans to ensure the achievement of its objectives in supporting excellence and leadership in the sports sector.

The Committee affirms its commitment to developing the program in a way that supports innovation and enhances the culture of sports excellence, with great hopes that the award will have a tangible positive impact that contributes to advancing the wheel of sports development in the community, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, may God protect him, to enhance leadership and excellence in various fields.

During the meeting, the tasks of the working team members were determined, a timetable for the award was set, in addition to reviewing its criteria and the importance of disseminating it widely to consolidate the culture of sports excellence, which contributes to achieving the objectives for which the award was established by the Board of Directors headed by Dr. Muhammad Ahmed Al Mutawa.

Ahmed Abdullah Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Committee, stressed the importance of adopting precise and transparent criteria that ensure the selection of competent candidates, which contributes to the sustainability of the participants’ performance and excellence, with a focus on highlighting their achievements in the sports sector. He pointed out that this step will support the leadership of sports excellence and enhance the position of the club and the Emirate of Sharjah as a leading sports platform at the local and international levels. Al Naqbi also praised the efforts of the Sharjah Sports Council and its interest in developing the sports excellence system in the emirate, noting that the award is a milestone at the local and international levels, and will contribute to establishing quality and innovation standards in the sports field.

On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, and within the framework of its community initiatives, Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club cooperates with the Sharjah Charity Association in Dibba Al-Hisn, to prepare and distribute 673 Iftar meals daily in the tents designated for Iftar for the fasting. This initiative aims to support the community and enhance the values ​​of solidarity and mutual support during the holy month.

Through this initiative, Dibba Al-Hisn Club emphasizes the importance of the role of sports institutions in supporting the community and contributing to achieving social solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan.

Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mutawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, confirmed that the club seeks through this initiative, in cooperation with the Sharjah Charity Association, to bring joy and happiness to the hearts of the fasting, thus enhancing the spirit of giving and community solidarity.

Al-Mutawa added that this step comes within the framework of a series of social events and initiatives organized by the club to enhance community partnership, which reflects its constant commitment to serving the community.

Dibba Al Hisn Sports Club hosted the Sharjah Award for Sports Excellence Leadership Committee, organized by the Sharjah Sports Council, on Tuesday evening, with the aim of explaining the award’s criteria and categories and the mechanism for submitting files.

The event was attended by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, and His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Tarban Al Hamoudi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al Hisn Football Club, in addition to members of the Board of Directors of the club and the company.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Al Mutawa praised the initiative of the Sharjah Sports Council, stressing that the award is an ideal platform for honoring innovators in the sports field, as it encourages excellence and leadership, which contributes to enhancing creativity and innovation in the sports and cultural sector.

He stressed that such invitations stimulate excellence and reflect positively on various sports fields, to constitute an incentive for continuous development.

The explanation of the award was provided by Abdullah Hussein Al Ali and Hani Al Qasim, where the mechanisms for submission and participation were highlighted, in addition to explaining the criteria and objectives of the program, the award categories, and the nomination conditions.

It was also confirmed that the last date for application is April 30, 2025, while the results will be announced in June 2025.

As part of its commitment to consolidating community culture and enhancing national identity, Dibba Al Hisn Sports Club participated in the activities of Sharjah Heritage Days 2025, held in the city of Dibba Al Hisn, where the club reviewed its long history and contributions to supporting sports and local culture, embodying its role in enhancing community interaction and communication between generations.

The club’s pavilion in the heritage village witnessed a remarkable presence of distinguished guests and prominent figures, in addition to a wide turnout from the public, including citizens and residents of different nationalities and age groups, including adults, youth and children, in addition to an elite group of cultural, sports and artistic figures, who praised the club’s efforts in preserving heritage and enhancing community awareness.

The club’s pavilion featured a comprehensive display of its journey extending since its establishment in 1980 under the name of Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, as it included a group of documentary panels that narrate the stages of its development, and its most prominent sports and cultural achievements, in addition to documenting the names of the presidents and members of the boards of directors who led the club through its various stages. The pavilion also contained a large picture of deceased Al Hisn personalities who left a positive impact on the club’s journey, in honor of their efforts in serving sports and society.

This distinguished presence of Dibba Al Hisn Club comes within the framework of its keenness to effectively integrate into cultural and community events, confirming its role that goes beyond sports to include supporting the Emirati heritage and interacting with national initiatives that enhance identity and belonging. Its participation in the Sharjah Heritage Days also reflects the club’s interest in documenting its history and linking current generations to the glorious past, which contributes to the sustainability of Dibba Al Hisn’s cultural and sporting heritage.

Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club launched the 16th edition of the Holy Quran Competition under the slogan “Memorize and Recite” in cooperation with the Sharjah Foundation for the Holy Quran and Sunnah, and under the auspices of the Sharjah Charity Association.

The competition targets age groups not exceeding 18 years, and this edition has been updated from previous editions, and includes the following branches (10 parts – 5 parts – 2 parts – a branch for age groups of club members – a branch for people of determination in Dibba Al-Hisn and Dibba Al-Fujairah).
The best voice from the participants and the religious figure in the city of Dibba Al-Hisn will be honored this year, with a ceremony honoring the winners of the competition. The last date for registration was set for Saturday, March 8, 2025.
Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mutawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the club, stressed the importance of these religious competitions in developing the interest of generations of the city’s sons in memorizing and reciting the Holy Quran. The competition contributes to instilling the values ​​of the Holy Quran.

As part of the celebrations of the Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club for the UAE Innovation Month, and as part of its monthly plan, the club organized a distinguished lecture entitled “The Journey of Innovation from Idea to Implementation”, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mutawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, and His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al-Taraban Al-Hamoudi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dibba Al-Hisn Football Club.

The lecture was presented by Ahmed Abdullah Al-Naqbi, Chairman of the Strategic Planning and Institutional Excellence Committee, during which he reviewed the methods of creating innovative ideas and how to transform them into practical application on the ground. He also touched on the importance of research and analysis in enhancing innovation and achieving sustainable success in various fields.

Al-Naqbi explained the role of creativity in personal development, in addition to the great impact of innovation in improving institutional capabilities that contribute to economic, administrative, technological and societal growth.

He stressed that innovation is the key to the success of any business, and that it is not limited to products or services, but extends to include the institutional work itself.

Al-Naqbi also discussed in his lecture new tools and methods for improving goods and services, explaining the importance of adopting innovation as part of the daily work strategy to achieve excellence.

At the end of the lecture, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa honored a number of creative employees who made distinguished efforts in their work. He praised their dedication, noting that this honor comes within the framework of the club’s Board of Directors’ approach to motivate employees and boost their morale, which contributes to raising the level of institutional performance.

The lecture witnessed positive interaction from the participants, as the challenges facing the innovation process and how to overcome them were discussed, in addition to reviewing some innovative experiences.

The city of Dibba Al-Hisn witnessed the opening of the second edition of the Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Festival yesterday evening, amidst a large official and public presence that reflects the importance of the event and its growing position in the city’s sports and cultural scene.

The opening ceremony was held in the heritage village, in the presence of a group of prominent figures, led by His Excellency Ahmed Abdullah bin Yarouf Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Dibba Al-Hisn Municipal Council, His Excellency Adel Alwan Al Naqbi, Director of the Amiri Diwan, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mutawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, and His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al-Taraban Al-Hamoudi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dibba Al-Hisn Football Company, in addition to members of the Advisory Council and heads and directors of government departments and bodies in the city.

The ceremony began with the playing of the UAE national anthem, marking the launch of the festival, followed by a speech by Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Events, in which he stressed that the festival comes in translation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, who pays great attention to culture and sports, and is keen to support various events that contribute to enhancing the spirit of the community and consolidating sports and cultural values.

He also pointed out that the festival reflects the fruit of the partnership between Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club and Dibba Al Hisn Football Company, as it came as a result of fruitful cooperation and a collective spirit that seeks to advance the sports and cultural fields in the city. He concluded his speech by extending thanks and appreciation to the loyal fans of the club, as well as to all the local institutions and departments that provided their unlimited support to make this event a success.

The first day of the festival witnessed a variety of events that attracted the audience in a distinctive festive atmosphere, as the Al Washahat Al Harbiah Band presented a distinctive heritage show, followed by a sports drum show that added a distinctive rhythmic touch to the event. The Sports Personality of the Year was also honored, as this title was given to His Excellency Abdullah Ali bin Yarouf Al Naqbi, who held many sports and governmental positions, including the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al Hisn Sports Club, and left his mark in the sports field with his leadership spirit and high morals, to be a role model in the city.

Continuing the atmosphere of honor, the winners of the Sports Families Award were announced, as three prominent sports families won, namely the family of Mr. Sultan Tamim Al Riyami, the family of Mr. Abdullah Zaid Badr Al Dhahouri, and the family of Mr. Salem Ali Al Khalidi, in appreciation of their role in supporting sports and active participation in sports events.

After the honors, the entertainment and sports activities resumed, where a group of female students presented a sports show that was well received by the audience, followed by the organization of the interactive “Kahoot” competition, which encouraged the participants to interact and compete in an exciting atmosphere. The sports evening also witnessed many entertainment competitions and daily draws, which added a distinctive character to the events, amidst a large audience keen to follow this special event in the heritage village.

The festival activities continue, as various sports competitions are scheduled to be held, in addition to rhythmic gymnastics shows, and performances by the Al-Awaid War Band, in addition to many diverse competitions that promise the audience more fun and excitement within the framework of this cultural sports festival, which has become a prominent mark in the annual events agenda of the city of Dibba Al-Hisn.

His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Rashid Al Tarban Al Hamoudi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al Hisn Football Club, honored three of its most prominent players and technical staff, in appreciation of their distinguished efforts during the month of November 2024, as Captain Hassan Al Abdouli, the first team coach, was honored with the Best Coach Award, while player Niksa Vujanovic received the Best Player Award, and goalkeeper Suhail Al Mutawa was crowned with the Best Goalkeeper Award.

Al Hamoudi explained that this honor reflects the distinguished collective efforts made by the team and the technical staff, considering that the awards are a testament to the wonderful performance achieved over the past month, and he pointed out that this appreciation enhances the club’s position and motivates everyone to move forward towards achieving more successes.

Al Hamoudi added that the club is keen to provide an appropriate environment that contributes to raising the level of players and achieving positive results in local competitions, and indicated that the club attaches special importance to celebrating individual and collective achievements, which contributes to motivating players and the technical staff to do more hard work.

For his part, coach Hassan Al-Abdouli expressed his happiness with this honor, stressing that the award represents the culmination of the efforts of the team as a whole, and explained that this appreciation motivates him to continue working hard to motivate the players and develop the team in line with the ambitions of the club and its fans. Player Niksa Vujanovic and goalkeeper Suhail Al-Mutawa also thanked the club’s management for this appreciation, stressing that the club’s continuous support is the main factor behind their successes, and they stressed that this honor will increase their determination to achieve more achievements in the coming period.

Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, in cooperation with Dibba Al Hisn Football Company, announced the launch of the first edition of a development project aimed at upgrading its human cadres, through the adoption of a set of incentive awards that include four categories: the Club Champions Award, the Annual Club Award for Distinguished Youth, the Distinguished Employee Award, and the Annual Club Award for Distinguished Guardian.

The launch of this project coincides with the celebrations of the 53rd National Day of the United Arab Emirates, and aims to enhance the vision of the Sharjah Sports Council in building a distinguished and happy sports community.

Since its establishment, the club has been keen to enhance communication with the players’ families and honor distinguished youth in sports, studies and behavior, which reflects its commitment to supporting excellence in all fields.

For his part, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, confirmed that the award criteria were developed in line with the vision and mission of the Sharjah Sports Excellence Award, which is sponsored by the wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, noting that the goal is to promote positive values ​​and encourage excellence, so that young people become role models in society.
