The Sharjah Award for Sports Excellence Leadership Program Committee at Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club held its first meeting at the club’s headquarters yesterday evening, Monday, headed by Ahmed Abdullah Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Committee, to discuss the most prominent topics related to the concepts and criteria of the award, and to develop the necessary executive plans to ensure the achievement of its objectives in supporting excellence and leadership in the sports sector.
The Committee affirms its commitment to developing the program in a way that supports innovation and enhances the culture of sports excellence, with great hopes that the award will have a tangible positive impact that contributes to advancing the wheel of sports development in the community, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, may God protect him, to enhance leadership and excellence in various fields.
During the meeting, the tasks of the working team members were determined, a timetable for the award was set, in addition to reviewing its criteria and the importance of disseminating it widely to consolidate the culture of sports excellence, which contributes to achieving the objectives for which the award was established by the Board of Directors headed by Dr. Muhammad Ahmed Al Mutawa.
Ahmed Abdullah Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Committee, stressed the importance of adopting precise and transparent criteria that ensure the selection of competent candidates, which contributes to the sustainability of the participants’ performance and excellence, with a focus on highlighting their achievements in the sports sector. He pointed out that this step will support the leadership of sports excellence and enhance the position of the club and the Emirate of Sharjah as a leading sports platform at the local and international levels. Al Naqbi also praised the efforts of the Sharjah Sports Council and its interest in developing the sports excellence system in the emirate, noting that the award is a milestone at the local and international levels, and will contribute to establishing quality and innovation standards in the sports field.
