Al Jazira achieved a valuable victory over its guest Dibba Al Hisn 1-0 in the last minute of the match that brought the two teams together this evening, for the 18th round of the ADNOC Professional League, after an average match, during which Al Jazira player Mohamed Elneny wasted a penalty kick that was brilliantly saved by Dibba Al Hisn goalkeeper Suhail Abdullah. The referee returned to award a second penalty kick that Vinicius Melo successfully executed in the second minute of stoppage time, to give the “Pride of Abu Dhabi” an important victory that raised its score to 30 points, advancing to fourth place, while Dibba Al Hisn remained with 10 points in thirteenth place in the standings. During the match, Al Jazira succeeded in imposing its control over the course of the game and possession of the ball, forcing the visiting team to retreat to the defensive zone and rely on counterattacks. Despite the control, Al Jazira did not succeed in creating dangerous attacks on Dibba Al Hisn’s goal, which played with a cohesive defense. The most prominent opportunity was through Nabil Fekir, with a shot that went just over the bar, while Al-Hasnawi was completely absent from creating opportunities.

In the second half, Al-Jazira continued its superiority with an improvement in the performance of Dibba Al-Hisn, who almost scored the lead goal through its striker, Midana, who took advantage of the defensive oversight and shot the ball that hit the right post, while Al-Jazira had a chance to go ahead with a goal from a penalty kick committed by Ali Al-Dhanhani in the 69th minute, and executed by Mohammed Al-Nani, but Suhail Abdullah, Dibba Al-Hisn goalkeeper, brilliantly saved it.

The final minutes witnessed intense activity in the offensive side of both teams, to win the three points, after the two coaches made several substitutions. Stojan Lekovic, Al-Jazira goalkeeper, excelled in preventing a goal from a header by Nexa player, while Suhail Abdullah continued to shine in protecting Dibba Al-Hisn’s goal, by deflecting Nabil Fekir’s shot to a corner kick. In the second minute of stoppage time, Vinicius Melo scored the first goal for Al Jazira, which was the only goal in the match, from a penalty kick, and the match ended with Al Jazira winning.
