The “Sharjah Summer Sports – Our Holiday is Different” program kicked off yesterday morning at Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, under the supervision of the Sharjah Sports Council. The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mutawa, Chairman of Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, and His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Rashid Al-Tarban, Chairman of Dibba Al-Hisn Football Club.
The first day saw the welcoming of participants and the completion of registration procedures in a vibrant atmosphere that reflected the enthusiasm of children and young people to participate in the program. Club officials and the team responsible for organizing the events and welcoming parents and participants were also present.
The opening ceremony began with a speech by Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ghosib, who welcomed the participants and expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Sharjah Sports Council, Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, and all participating entities and institutions for their contributions to the success of the summer program. He also commended the parents for their cooperation and keenness to register their children to benefit from the purposeful programs and activities.
The first day’s program included an awareness workshop titled “Security and Safety,” presented by the Eastern Region Civil Defense Unit. The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ awareness of safety and prevention procedures. An interactive workshop titled “My Family, the Secret to My Happiness” was also held, focusing on the importance of the family in shaping children’s character and instilling positive values.
At the conclusion of the day’s events, Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ghosib reviewed the objectives of the “Sharjah Summer Sports Program – Our Vacation is Different” and provided participants with the program’s guidelines and instructions. These guidelines aim to create a safe and stimulating environment that ensures maximum benefit from the activities and events.
The program continues until July 30th, offering a diverse range of sports, cultural, recreational, and educational activities. This initiative reflects Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club’s commitment to utilizing summer vacation time in ways that benefit children and youth, develop their skills, discover their talents, and promote values of creativity, cooperation, and national belonging within an educational and recreational environment that combines enjoyment and enrichment.
