Yesterday morning, Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club launched smart containers for recycling plastic and cardboard cups and cans, in the presence of Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mutawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the club, and Ahmed Al-Naqbi, Chairman of the Strategic Planning and Excellence Committee at the club.

This initiative comes as part of the club’s efforts to promote sustainability and reduce environmental pollution resulting from plastic waste, in cooperation with Rene Company.

It is worth noting that the club intends to increase the number of smart containers to cover more places within the club, which contributes to achieving the initiative’s goals more broadly and enhances the culture of sustainability in the community.

The initiative aims to raise awareness among the internal and external communities about the health and environmental risks that plastic waste can cause, in addition to inspiring individuals and institutions to adopt environmentally friendly options.

The initiative includes providing direct rewards through smart applications that encourage the adoption of sustainable practices, which contributes to increasing the recycling index and supports social responsibility.

Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mutawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al-Hisn Club, stated: “Launching these smart containers represents an important step towards achieving our goals in preserving the environment and raising community awareness of the dangers of plastic waste.”

Al Mutawa stressed the importance of the initiative as the first smart project for sports clubs in the country, reflecting the club’s commitment to achieving true environmental sustainability.

In turn, Ahmed Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Strategic Planning and Excellence Committee at the club, said: We believe that teamwork and modern technology are the way to achieve effective results in the field of sustainability. These smart containers will help us improve recycling rates and promote the circular economy.
