The Human Resources Committee of Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, as part of its strategic plan, held an educational workshop for all employees of the club entitled “Electronic Blackmail Workshop”, by the lecturer, lawyer Ahmed Rashid Jaber Al-Salami. The workshop, which was held on Wednesday evening at the club’s headquarters, was attended by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mutawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, Abdullah Saeed Al-Watari Al-Dhahouri, Chairman of the Individual Games Committee at Dibba Al-Hisn Sports Club, Ahmed Murad Ali Al-Amiri, Member of the Board of Directors of Dibba Al-Hisn Football Club, Mohammed Khalifa Al-Naimi, Executive Director, and a number of team supervisors and administrators, coaches, employees and workers.

Lecturer Al-Salami said during the workshop, which witnessed a remarkable presence of players and administrators: Electronic blackmail is one of the types of electronic crimes, which is carried out using information technologies and electronic means of communication, such as email, social media and text messages.

Al Salami added: There are examples of so-called information brokers who work for certain external parties and paid accounts, and who have actually exported a large amount of information and have become popular companies, and this requires solidarity and joint cooperation to raise awareness among the largest number of segments of society. The lecturer reviewed real examples of cases of electronic blackmail, to clarify the seriousness of these diseases, while providing the necessary solutions for them, and praised the law to combat rumors and electronic crimes in the United Arab Emirates, which aims to provide a comprehensive legal framework to enhance the protection of society from electronic crimes committed through Internet networks and technologies, and seeks to protect websites and government databases in the UAE, combat the spread of rumors and fake news, electronic fraud, and preserve privacy and personal rights.
