The Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club organized a ceremony to honor the winners of the 16th edition of the Holy Quran Competition. 58 contestants from various age groups participated, with a distinguished official and community presence.

The ceremony, which took place yesterday evening at the club’s headquarters, was attended by Ahmed Abdullah bin Ya’rouf Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Dibba Al Hisn Municipal Council, and Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa, Chairman of the Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, along with members of the club’s and company’s boards of directors, representatives of the competition’s sponsors, and parents who were keen to share these blessed moments with their children.

The ceremony opened with the UAE national anthem, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, elevating the souls of those present through remembrance of God.

The ceremony also featured a video titled “Loyalty to Sheikh Zayed,” honoring his long career in spreading the values ​​of goodness and benevolence.

Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dibba Al Hisn Club, delivered a speech in which he expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for his unlimited support and wise vision in consolidating the Quranic culture in the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE in general.

In his speech, Al Mutawa emphasized the importance of this competition in instilling religious and moral values ​​among participants, noting that it is one of the most prominent annual events that the club is proud to organize in cooperation with the Sharjah Foundation for the Holy Quran and Sunnah, and with the generous sponsorship of the Sharjah Charity International. He also thanked everyone who contributed to the success of this blessed initiative since its launch 16 years ago, commending parents for their continuous support of their children and encouraging them to memorize and master the Holy Quran.

The ceremony concluded with the honoring of the winners, who were presented with awards and certificates in recognition of their efforts and excellence in various categories of the competition. The honoring was not limited to the contestants alone, but also included the imams, muezzins, members of the judging panel, and sponsors. The “Best Voice” award was also presented to the talented reciters who excelled in their Quranic recitation.

This year’s ceremony featured a distinguished initiative, honoring the “Religious Personality of the Year 2025” in Dibba Al-Hisn, a move that reflects the club’s commitment to highlighting individuals who have made significant contributions to serving religion and society.

His Eminence Sheikh Hassan Amira and His Eminence Sheikh Khurshid Ahmed Hafez were chosen in recognition of their role in spreading knowledge and teaching the Holy Quran.

Mahra Abdulaziz Murad Al Amiri, who won first place in the People of Determination category for memorizing the Holy Quran across the GCC, was also honored for her remarkable achievement, a source of pride and inspiration for all.

In a gesture reflecting appreciation for cultural cadres, the club honored Mr. Mohammed Rashid Rushoud, a member of the Cultural Committee, for his tireless efforts that contributed to the success of numerous cultural and heritage events, as well as his ongoing support for strengthening national identity and reviving popular heritage within the community.
