The fourth annual Ramadan football tournament for the Under-12 and Under-14 age groups (born 2012-2018) at Dibba Al-Hisn Football Club kicked off Monday evening amidst a vibrant sporting atmosphere and with official and public attendance. This initiative reflects the club’s commitment to developing emerging football talent and promoting sporting activities during the holy month of Ramadan.

The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Ahmed Abdullah bin Yarouf Al-Naqbi, Chairman of the Dibba Al-Hisn Municipal Council; His Excellency Talib Abdullah Safar Al-Yahyai, Mayor of Dibba Al-Hisn; Abdullah Al-Tarban, Chairman of Dibba Al-Hisn Football Club; Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mutawa, Chairman of Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club; and several board members, as well as prominent sports and community figures.

This tournament underscores Dibba Al-Hisn Club’s dedication to providing a suitable sporting environment for honing the skills of young players, fostering a spirit of fair competition and teamwork, and leveraging the Ramadan atmosphere to reinforce sporting and educational values.

This year’s tournament also featured an innovative concept: the participating teams were named after landmarks in the Emirate of Sharjah. This aimed to familiarize young players with the history and sites of their city, highlighting its most prominent cultural and tourist attractions, and instilling a sense of belonging.

The tournament is expected to witness fierce and exciting competition among the participating teams, amidst excellent organization and enthusiastic public support. Matches will continue throughout the holy month, culminating in the final match and the crowning of the winners.
