As part of the Dibba Al-Hisn Sports and Cultural Club’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the highest levels of preparedness and safety for its athletes and all its staff and employees during the 2025-2026 sports season, the club organized an awareness and training exercise yesterday morning, Saturday, in cooperation with the Eastern Province Civil Defense Department. The exercise, titled “Emergency Evacuation Procedures and Protocols,” is part of its annual plan to instill a culture of security and safety within the workplace.
The exercise targeted all club employees, including administrators, technicians, and workers. Assistant Officer Ahmed Mohammed Hammadi and First Assistant Rashid Mohammed Al-Dhahouri from the Civil Defense Department presented the training program, which was divided into two parts: theoretical and practical.
On the theoretical side, the importance of prior awareness of evacuation procedures was reviewed, and the basic steps for handling emergency situations such as fires or sudden accidents were explained. The safe use of safety and firefighting equipment was also highlighted, with a focus on athletes and staff knowing the locations of fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and pre-determined assembly points. The course also highlighted the distribution of roles and responsibilities among emergency teams within the facility to ensure immediate intervention when needed.
On the practical side, a field evacuation drill was conducted within the club’s facilities, measuring the athletes’ and staff’s response speed and adherence to established instructions and emergency plans. This demonstrated a growing awareness of the importance of teamwork and discipline in the face of any exceptional circumstance. This practical application emphasized the need for continuous preparedness and enhanced confidence in the staff’s ability to protect themselves and their colleagues and ensure the safety of the public.
This exercise reflects Dibba Al Hisn Club’s commitment to keeping pace with best practices in the field of security and safety. The club includes a series of training programs in its annual plans aimed at enhancing the efficiency of athletes and employees and providing a safe, risk-free work environment, in line with approved national standards. This reinforces the club’s mission as a sports, cultural, and community institution responsible for the safety of its members and visitors alike.
