Al Nasr continued their winning streak with a precious victory over Dibba Al Hisn, scored by defender Glauber Lima in the dying seconds of the match on Tuesday evening at Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Stadium, in the 22nd round of the ADNOC Professional League. This result raised Al Nasr’s tally to 33 points, placing them in sixth place, while Dibba Al Hisn remained at 16 points, placing them in 13th place.
The match was largely played in midfield, with Al Nasr enjoying the upper hand in possession and creating dangerous opportunities through Swiss striker Haris Seferovic on at least two occasions, most notably a header that went just wide. Dibba Al Hisn, on the other hand, played defensively, attempting to close down spaces and relying on counterattacks led by Senegalese Alioune N’Dour and Tunisian Haythem Jouini. These failed to produce any results, and the first half ended in a goalless draw.
In the second half, Dibba Al-Hisn came close to scoring on two counterattacks, but goalkeeper Ahmed Shambih excelled. As the match drew to a close, defender Glauber Lima scored the only goal of the game in the 88th minute, giving his team three valuable points in the race for third place and a place in the AFC Champions League.
