The Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club team won first place in the 17th annual cultural competition organized by the Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club, under the slogan “Hand in Hand, We Build Community Capabilities.” The competition saw widespread participation from 16 sports clubs and eight government institutions from within the city of Dibba Al Hisn, a vivid embodiment of the values of cultural solidarity and community belonging.
The competition, which took place yesterday evening, Saturday, at the club’s headquarters, was attended by a number of prominent sports and cultural figures, including His Excellency Abdullah Mohammed Maleh, Member of the Sharjah Sports Council; His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club; His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Rashid Al Tarban Al Hamoudi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dibba Al Hisn Football Club; and Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Dhahouri, Chairman of the Community Culture Committee.
The ceremony began with the playing of the UAE national anthem, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. The competition quickly became a platform for purposeful competition between the participating teams.
The Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club team deservedly outperformed all other competitors, winning the title of champion and receiving the championship trophy and a well-deserved cash prize. Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club came in second, followed by Sharjah Cultural Chess Club in third, and Al Hamriyah Club in fourth.
The competition was characterized by liveliness and skillful presentation, thanks to the remarkable efforts of Ahmed Abdullah Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Strategic Planning and Institutional Excellence Committee and Vice Chairman of the Cultural Committee, and Mohammed Rashid Rushoud, a member of the Cultural Committee. They presented the competition segments in a professional and sophisticated manner that captured the attention of the audience and added a remarkable atmosphere of enthusiasm and cultural interaction.
In his speech during the event, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa emphasized that the annual cultural competition has become a fundamental pillar of the club’s programs, noting that it aims to enhance general culture, hone mental skills, and discover promising talents among the region’s residents.
He expressed his pride in the high standard demonstrated by the participating teams, emphasizing the club’s commitment to supporting such cultural initiatives that serve the community and instill noble values in future generations.
For their part, the participants expressed their great happiness at participating, praising the meticulous organization and the variety of topics and segments that enriched the competition atmosphere. They emphasized that this event provided a true opportunity for self-discovery and the development of cultural capabilities. They expressed their hope that this event will continue annually, ensuring it remains a platform that embraces talent and fosters a spirit of positive competition within the Dibba Al-Hisn community.
